The devotee who is in renounced order is rare. The reason is unless a person gives up all material desires and with good behavior engages in chanting the Holy name constantly only then will he be able to maintain his purity.
Hence when the number of renounced people seem to keep increasing this means it is the evil work of Kali.
The other reason for this increase is that whether the person is suitable is not considered at the time of awarding the robes. The result of more unqualified renounced people leads to an increase in social problems and more discrepancies in conduct which will cause the destruction of the Vaishnava dharma. If a person after taking sanyasa becomes entangled in material desires then he is bereft of his original ashram and even if he enters the household life, he is outside the scope of the Varnashrama. Only by heartfelt repentance and giving up hypocrisy can he absolve himself from his fallen state and earn the grace of the Supreme Lord. A fallen sanyasa can no way take up the robe of a sanyasi as that will tantamount to hypocrisy.
