Gaudiya Gosthi Patih Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Gosvami Prabhupada used to speak that—“ Genuine Harikatha is just like a bullet, which can touch our heart heavily to change our life.” Srila Prabhupada also used to say that—“We will have to charge the dynamite of Harikatha to break the hearts of those demons which can be compared with stone layer or iron layer. Because by the magic spell of strong Harikatha they can change their heart to start Hari bhajan.”
Some devotees used to ask Srila Prabhupada that you are putting so much restriction about Harikatha-Harikirtan (Haribhajan) but where to go we cannot understand, please advise us. Then Srila Prabhupada started speaking all about the secrecy lying in this siddhanta vicar in the following way—“At least you should avoid the place where the possibility of Namaparadha is there, but if the possibility of Namabhasa is there somehow you can go (or you can avoid if your sensitivity is high about aprakrita shabda Brahma).”
It is the strict instruction of our Gaudiya Vedandic Tattva Acarya –Srila Jiva Gosvamipad that “ bakta sarago nirago divido pari kirtita.” According to this sloka Srila Jiva Gosvamipad wanted to give us a strong warning about whom to give the most valuable Vyasasana. Those who are having dirty anyabilasa inside their heart, surely they are going to contaminate the most valuable Vyasasana. To protect the great honor of the Vyasasana we should give this Vyasasana to a pure devotee who is having no smell of anyabilasa—this is the advice of Srila Jiva pada because pure devotee their Harikatah-Kirtan– their whole life dedicated unto the Lotus feet of Supreme Lord, so naturally they are always busy to seek the total satisfaction of Supreme Lord through their Harikatha-Kirtan (they are Niraga bakta), whereas those who are speaking Harikatha with contaminated heart with labha , puja, prathista, surely they are going to spoil themselves and all others at the same time.
