Gauḍīya Goṣṭhī-pati Śrī Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Paramahaṁsa Guru said that—“As soon as I like to apply argument or logic, then Guru-tattva can get vanished, and one can find only a man made of flesh and blood sitting in front of him.”
We know the following śloka from Śrīmad Bhāgavatam—
yasya sākṣād bhagavati
jñāna-dīpa-prade gurau
martyāsad-dhīḥ śrutaṁ tasya
sarvaṁ kuñjara-śaucavat (S.B. 7.15.26)
The spiritual master should be considered to be directly the Supreme Lord because he gives transcendental knowledge for enlightenment. Consequently, for one who maintains the material conception that the spiritual master is an ordinary human being, everything is frustrated. His enlightenment and his Vedic studies and knowledge are like the bathing of an elephant.
When there is no question of Guru-darśana, then from where the question of Bhāgavata-darśana can arise? Any contamination inside our heart regarding pure guru-vaishnava can only lead us up to Māyāvāda-vicāra. In true sense, more or less, we are all Māyāvādīs. The Māyāvādīs take great pride in their renunciation and jñāna. Śrīla Prabhupāda used to say that they imagine themselves free from yoṣit-saṅga, but in reality they are the biggest yoshit sangis, because they desire to occupy the seat of Brahmā himself.
If there is even the slightest smell of pratiṣṭhā inside heart, then it is impossible to speak actual Harikatha. At best, one may can try to remember something in a mechanical way, but absolute nonstop Bhagavad smriti will never be possible to be maintained in this way. Many people ask me, “How do you speak hari-kathā three or four times a day?” I think they carry some material conception about me; otherwise, why would they ask such a question? They think I am memorizing all shastra. But I have no time even to die so how can I sit and memorize all shastra? I always depend upon Gurudpadapadma and The Prabhupada so that both of them can appear inside my heart to help me speak Harikatha smoothly without any disturbance. In this way a stream of continuous Harikatha is coming automatically inside my heart. The Prabhupada used to say that –“Baddha-jīva can never speak actual hari-kathā.”
Sometimes we try to imitate Guru-Vaiṣṇava. We think we possess authenticity, but we cannot understand that we are full of faults. This imitation is one of the most subtle forms of deceit. Without absolute surrender actual Harikatha is impossible.
Who will care to hear your lecture? Only if you have genuine realization born out of hari-bhajana in course of guru-sevā then we may can sell our mind, intellect & ears etc., unto the lotus feet of such a exalted devotee, otherwise there is no need to hear such lectures. Lecturing without qualification brings nothing but danger in our life—danger both to the speaker and to the listener. Even a single germ of pratiṣṭhā is enough to destroy our whole spiritual life.
Śrīla Gaura Kiśora dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja once said, “No one in this world will accept your siddhānta. Why do you trouble yourself? Simply sit here with me and chant Harināma.” But being unable to tolerate the suffering of the conditioned souls and by watching the distortion of pure devotional vichar, The Prabhupada wanted to protect the whole world by preaching about the absolute siddhanta vichar of Gauranga Mahaprabhu intact way without any compromise, even though he was facing countless of obstacles. What kind of sacrifice was there in his life that we cannot even imagine in dream.
