Suppose you are getting some extra facility from Guru and Vaishnava, some extra kripa is there, then in that case you have to keep it secretly. Srila Narottama das Thakur is speaking in Prema Bhakti Chandrika–“gopate sadhile siddhi sadhana nabadha bhakti”. Gopate means– very secretly I can do my Bhajan according to the kripa of my Gurupadapadma. When genuine bhava or prema coming inside heart then such devotee can never allow other people to know about such intimate feelings which he has received. One should not run here and there with a big banner to declare that—“ Look! I am a great Raganuga Devotee”, because this can surely prove that he is a cheater, nothing else. We learn the same thing from Mahaprabhu.
bahiranga sange kare nama-sankirtan
antaranga-sange kare rasa –asvadana
Amongst the ordinary devotees the Lord engaged in Nama-sankirtan, and with His intimate associates He relished rasa.
Sriman Mahaprabhu sometimes getting ecstatic feelings, but in front of outside people, Sriman Mahaprabhu always used to hide His mood. Same mood we can see with Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Thakur Prabhupada . Once Srila Prabhupada was speaking Harikatha at the bank of Sri Radha Kunda, and it happened so that he had a break down because of ecstatic feelings. Then forcefully he tried his best to check himself and wanted to hide his feeling immediately because mixed population was there. The devotee who is having this kind of feeling surely cannot speak, because his throat gets choked up, his hairs going to stand on end, his body gets shivering, tears can be seen rolling down his cheeks, or all different kinds of symptoms of asta sattvika vikar can be seen in him. In such a case a devotee wants to hide this own secret feeling, it is not something for public. That is why Srila Jiva Gosvami pad wanted to give some warning to us in his Sad Sandarbhas. He is telling that by the mercy of Gurudeva, or by the mercy of Bhagavan we are going to get Prasadam in different form, and when we get any such special kind of kripa, then this should not be expressed in front of others. In Srimad Bhagavatam we can also find the following sloka–
naitat parasmā ākhyeyaṁ
pṛṣṭayāpi kathañcana
sarvaṁ sampadyate devi
deva-guhyaṁ susaṁvṛtam…. ŚB 8.17.20
O lady, even if someone inquires, you should not disclose this fact to anyone. That which is very confidential is successful if kept secret.
When Vishnu appear in front of Aditi then really He was very much satisfied with her ‘Payo-Vrata’. Then Visnu started speaking that –“ Hey Devi! If someone asking about some secrecy of Bhajan then this should not be disclosed at all. Because exposal of this secrecy can make you very weak. Similarly if some devotee going to get some secret kripa , then he or she should not disclose it in front of everyone, otherwise, he or she can lose that kripa. If you keep it secret then you can get successful result.
